Jeruzalem Ormoz x Alja Horvat

I’m super excited that I can finally tell you about the collaboration with Jeruzalem Ormož - I designed a print for their Art Edition collection which hits the stores this week. The vision behind the “Art Edition” collections is that the design changes every two years, giving space to the young artists to create and test a slightly different canvas.

You can buy our Art Edition collaboration on their website, from around 18/7 the bottle will be also available in selected stores in Slovenia (Spar, Tus, Mercator)

Jeruzalem Ormoz presented me the concept at the start of the year and I was immediately say “yes” to the collaboration, as I wanted to work on the project with them for quite some time. For me, creating a bottle was extraordinary experience, as I’ve never worked on something like that before. The vision was that the bottle can be also reused - you can put flowers in it and use it as a vase, or you can use it as a candlestick or a jug of water.

This is the first sketch that I presented to Jeruzalem Ormož and they liked it instantly. We wanted to create something that represented spring and summer, and floral motif was the right choice, as I love drawing flowers. They’re also very dear to me, as they remind me at childhood summers I spent at my grandmas.

When the sketch was approved, I created a line artwork so I could fill empty spaces with colours. We wanted a colour palette that would remind of fields of flowers in the spring, so we went with brighter & more saturated colours. When the design was finished I presented Jeruzalem Ormož the idea of how the design would look on the bottle - they later choose to move in a slightly different direction (as you can see on the final photos).
